Business Hours for Ramadan buffet: 6.30pm to 10.30pm.Ramadan is round the corner and food lovers looking for some Ramadan delicacies and delights can head to Kelab Darul Ehsan for a culinary journey through the various states.
Fondly known as the Sajian Bonda Buffet, the buffet spread will feature traditional home-style dishes just like what one will find in the kampungs around the country.
The man behind it: Executive chef Mustafa designed the interesting traditional Malay buffet.
Executive chef Mustafa Kamal has designed a special menu that will be rotated daily to feature interesting dishes, including Penang laksa, Tanjung honey grilled chicken, curry mackerel, masala fried prawns and spiced fried crabs.
"We called this the Sajian Bonda because we want to create the cosy and warm feeling of eating home-cooked cuisine, just like the warmth of the Ramadan month," Mustafa said.
From Malacca, highlights include asam fish, cili padi snails, sambal squid and fried taugeh, while the dishes from Pahang include Jerantut-rolled chicken, patin fish paste and minced beef.
Terengganu will feature grilled squid, Cek Mek chicken, Malay mixed vegetable, as well as sweet-and-sour pomfret.
The northern state of Perlis is famous for its bamboo chicken, sambal prawns and bananas with kadok, and all these dishes will be available at the buffet.
Unique dishes from Perak that will whet one's appetite include the pineapple salted fish, asam fish and chicken rendang.
The buffet will also feature Malay dishes found in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, including the hor loh prawns, kalio beef, mutton kurma, steamed tofu, and chilli aubergine.
There will also be servings of raw vegetables like ulam and salad to accompany the dishes.
The rice selection for the buffet ranges from hot rain rice, pilaf rice, lobak rice and Arab rice to oil rice to suit the various dishes.
The alfresco dining part will also play host to various stalls that offer barbecue meat, pita bread, soups, banana fritters, Malay sweets, puddings and cakes.
Music: The Rahim Jantan outfit will provide ghazal entertainment as you dine.
To top off the breaking-of-fast experience, there will be ghazal performances by Rahim Jantan, featuring an entertaining ensemble belting out traditional Malay tunes.
